News Network International (NNI) is one of Pakistan’s oldest and most respected news agencies, founded in 1992 by the late Hafiz Abdul Khaliq. With a vision to deliver timely, accurate, and high-quality journalism, NNI has grown into a trusted source for news across Pakistan and beyond.
The Founder: Hafiz Abdul Khaliq
Hafiz Abdul Khaliq began his journalistic journey in Chandiwala, District Khanewal, Punjab. He was known for his deep understanding of political, economic, human rights, and social issues. Starting as a reporter for the Urdu daily ‘Insaniyat’ in Vehari, he quickly rose to become District Correspondent for ‘Nawa-e-Waqt’, and later Bureau Chief for ‘Jasarat’ in Multan and Lahore.
In Islamabad, he served as Editor of the city’s first Urdu daily ‘Markaz’, and also contributed to Karachi’s weekly ‘Takbeer’ and Islamabad’s weekly ‘Hurmat’. His professionalism earned him recognition among political, business, and media circles in the capital.
Hafiz Abdul Khaliq was the driving force behind NNI’s establishment. His tireless dedication—often working up to 20 hours a day—laid the foundation for the agency’s success. Sadly, his health declined due to cancer, and he passed away on July 4, 1999. Today, his Ammar Khaliq asicontinues his mission, leading NNI with a commitment to journalistic integrity and excellence.

NNI operates from its headquarters in Islamabad, with bureau offices in major cities including Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Multan, Faisalabad, and regional offices in Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Kasur, Vehari, Mailsi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur.
With over 500 professional correspondents, reporters, and stringers, NNI has built the largest reporting network in Pakistan—covering every town, tehsil, district, and provincial capital.
